Description
WLKATA Haro380 Advanced Kit
Overview
The WLKATA Haro380 Advanced Kit is a 6-axis industrial-grade desktop robotic arm paired with an extended set of industrial end effectors and educational accessories. It delivers the precision, payload, and protocol support of a full-size industrial robot in a compact platform, with the broader tooling and teaching resources needed for advanced labs and application development.
Each joint runs on a harmonic reducer under closed-loop control for zero backlash and +/- 0.05 mm repeatability, precise enough for needle-threading and small-parts assembly. The aluminum-alloy structure carries a 500 gram rated payload (up to 1000 grams under specific conditions), reaches 434 mm, and mounts vertically, on a ceiling, or on its side. A magnetic docking system changes end effectors automatically, and the Advanced Kit extended tool set widens the range of tasks a single arm can perform.
Integration is central to the platform, with RS485, Modbus, EtherCAT, and PLC support for real smart-factory training. Programming spans Blockly, Python, C++, and G-code through WLKATA Studio and the WLKATA Lab mobile app, with ROS2, MATLAB, RoboDK, and digital-twin support, plus real-time control, manual teaching, gesture control, and voice commands backed by a full safety system.

Key Features
- Industrial +/- 0.05 mm Precision: Harmonic reducers on all six joints with closed-loop control give +/- 0.05 mm repeatability and zero backlash, precise enough to thread a needle or assemble small model parts.
- Harmonic-Drive Metal Build: A full aluminum-alloy structure delivers a high strength-to-weight ratio, smooth motion under load, and industrial durability in a compact desktop footprint.
- Magnetic Tool Docking: A magnetic docking system changes end effectors automatically, switching between grippers, vacuum, dispensing, and other tools without manual intervention.
- PLC and EtherCAT Integration: Support for RS485, Modbus, EtherCAT, and PLC systems lets the arm drop into real industrial automation workflows for genuine smart-factory training.
- Flexible Mounting: The arm installs in vertical, ceiling, or side orientations to fit different workcell layouts and space constraints.
- Multi-Modal Control: Real-time control, manual teaching, gesture control, and voice commands offer several intuitive ways to program and operate the arm.
- Built-In Safety System: Overload, voltage, overheat, and electrostatic protection help keep the arm and its operators safe during continuous use.
- Extended End-Effector Set: The Advanced Kit adds an extended set of industrial-grade end effectors and educational accessories, widening the range of handling, assembly, and dispensing tasks out of the box.
Applications
The Haro380 is built for micro-manufacturing, precision-manipulation research, and industrial automation training. Its harmonic drives, +/- 0.05 mm repeatability, and PLC, Modbus, and EtherCAT support let institutions teach real automation and smart-factory integration on hardware that behaves like production equipment, while its compact footprint fits small-parts assembly, dispensing, and light manufacturing where space is limited.
For research and higher education, the arm pairs with vision systems for perception-driven pick-and-place, inspection, and sorting, and its flexible programming makes it a platform for manipulation experiments and AI-algorithm development. A safe desktop form factor, magnetic tool changing, and RoboDK and digital-twin support make it equally suited to controls coursework, laboratory testing, and prototyping.
Setup and Getting Started
- Unbox and inspect: Remove the arm, control box, and extended end-effector set, and check for shipping damage.
- Mount the arm: Place the arm on a stable surface or mount it vertically, on a ceiling, or on its side, and secure the base.
- Connect power and control: Connect the control box, power supply, and communication cabling to the arm and your PC.
- Install the software: Install WLKATA Studio from the WLKATA Download Center, or the WLKATA Lab mobile app.
- Attach an end effector: Select and fit an end effector from the extended set using the magnetic docking interface.
- Run a first program: Confirm motion with a manual-teaching or Blockly routine, then advance to Python, ROS2, MATLAB, or PLC integration.
