Description
The Swimables SW-41-061 Air Flow Switch is a critical safety and ignition component for Pentair MasterTemp and Max-E-Therm pool and spa heaters. This switch monitors the pressure differential across the air metering orifice to verify adequate combustion airflow before ignition can proceed. Once the blower generates sufficient air movement, the AFS closes its contacts, completing the circuit to the hot surface igniter (HSI) and initiating the fuel-lighting sequence. Within approximately 20 seconds of a heat call, the blower and HSI activate, the gas valve opens, and combustion begins. The HSI then transitions into flame-sensing mode, continuously verifying that a stable flame is present throughout the heating cycle.
